Wildlife is abundant in the forest and can
often be seen near the run. Whitetail deer and Raccoons bring their young to drink the
pristine water. A wide variety of turtles pop their heads out of the water or lie on limbs
to dry out and sun themselves. Otters can often be seen swimming and playing in the
grasses. Alligators of all sizes live along the run and can be seen year round.
Fishing is a popular sport in Salt Springs Run
and the nearby water ways. You can expect to catch
Largemouth (Black) Bass, Sunshine and Striped Bass, Bluegill, Shellcracker, Black Crappie
(Specks), Mullet,
Catfish, even occasional saltwater species such as Blue Crab, Ladyfish, Croakers and much
more...
